Checklist For Your Spring Car Check-Up

Spring Cleaning? Don't Forget Your Car!

Winter can be tough on lots of things, including cars and trucks. Cold temperatures, snow and ice, road salt and pothole-causing freeze-thaw cycles put car batteries, tires, brakes and suspensions to the test.  According to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration vehicle crashes due to neglected maintenance cause more than 2,600 deaths a year.

Spring is the time to rid vehicles of winter's effects in time for summer travel.

Regular vehicle maintenance and inspections can help improve a vehicle's fuel efficiency, achieve peak performance and even help avoid major repairs down the road.

You will want to have these items checkedto ensure your vehicle is ready to roll:

Scion iQ Boosts U.S Sales

Toyota’s Tiny Scion iQ Boosts U.S Sales by 19 Percent

Scion brand, created to attract young drivers with quirky designs and low prices, said many initial U.S. customers for the iQ minicar are buying it as a fuel-saving third vehicle for urban trips.
The tiny hatchback, starting at $15,995, appeals to city drivers because it’s easy to park and gets the best fuel-economy of any gasoline-only auto in the U.S., Jack Hollis, vice president of Scion sales, said in an interview yesterday. Sales of iQ, which became available in all U.S. markets last month, lifted Scion deliveries 19 percent in the year’s first quarter.

Toyota’s Tiny iQ Helps Boost Scion Sales 19 Percent as Third Car “The early indication is it’s more of a third vehicle, and a little more of a higher-income buyer,” Hollis said. “This is the highest mpg car in the country, non-hybrid, and what I think is happening is people are seeing that.”

First Time Car
Rookie drivers

If you are looking to buy a vehicle for the first time, or if you are looking for a first car for somebody else, there are some cars that help the transition into the driving world better than others. Reliability and safety are two very important factors for new drivers, and handling, technology and style are also pretty important. The best car deals are the ones that will get you what you need for a low price.

First time car buyers are usually younger people, and younger people are more inclined to take risks, and less inclined to repair and maintain their cars. That's why dependable and safe cars are very necessary. Young people generally cannot afford expensive new cars, so finding solid cheap used cars is almost always the best choice.

2012 Nissan NV - Specs and Pics

2012 Nissan NV
Introduced in mid-2011 as a 2012 model, the Nissan NV is available in three innovative versions, NV1500, NV2500 HD and NV3500 HD, and in two roof configurations – Standard Roof and High Roof.

Powering the rear-wheel drive Nissan NV is a choice of two powerful yet fuel-efficient engines – a 4.0-liter V6 and 5.6-liter V8. Both will be mated to a standard 5-speed automatic transmission.
First and foremost a tough workhorse, the Nissan NV provides exceptional utility, thanks to a long, wide cargo floor, square-top wheelwell housings and nearly vertical sidewalls. Along with maximizing cargo space, the sidewalls accommodate aftermarket storage systems without excessive modification. The cargo area also features a full-length inner panel to prevent cargo from denting the vehicle’s outer skin (SV models). There are also multiple integrated reinforced attachment points for mounting customization equipment.

Key highlights of the 2012 Nissan NV include:
